Do I Need A Duct Repair Service?
We have many calls from customer that tell us they do not feel any air flow in parts of the house, or some of the rooms. In some cases, it could be the dampers in your ducting that direct the air flow in the wrong way. However, in some cases it could be due to disconnected duct, or a duct that has holes in it.
Disconnected Duct
A few reasons could cause your duct to disconnect. First, and most commonly occurring, the house settles over time and causes minor movements in the frame. Therefore, if your ducts were installed without and slacks, a small movement could force a disconnect that will lead to loss of air flow.
In addition, while different home services technicians may need access to your crawl space or attic, it could happen that they will cause an accidental disconnect in one or more ducts. Therefore, if you feel a lack of air flow in one or more ducts, we strongly recommend to make sure it is properly installed and there are no disconnects.
Broken Duct Due To Rodents
When you experience a rodent infestation in your attic, it is also common to find out your ducts may have been a victim as well. The rodents eat right through the fiberglass insulation and the flex ducts. Then they reside in the duct and in many cases contaminate the duct with feces. Once you have rodent feces in your ducts it is impossible to properly clean and repair and holes. In that case you will need to replace the duct. However, is some cases if that ducts are in good condition, we can make the necessary duct repair and also clean and disinfect the ducts so you can breathe fresh air again.
