Although we just finished a week of a heat wave in Orange County and Los Angeles, it is time for chimney sweep reminder. We had an interesting job this week that made us think its time to remind our customers about the yearly chimney sweep service. Our Chimney Sweep & Dryer Vent Cleaning Experience

This week we got a call for a dryer vent cleaning in a community in Orange County. The HOA mentioned that a couple of technicians have tried to resolve it before, however, they were not able to locate the problem with the dryer vent.

After an hour of examining the dryer vent, we finally located the exit of the dryer vent right next to the chimney exit. In addition, we also found out the both of them, the dryer vent and the chimney were mostly blocked with left over shingles the used for the roof repair in the community they performed in the past couple of months.

Of course we notified the HOA about the problem and from there we went on to remove the blockage from the dryer vent exit and the chimney exit. You can only imagine the results if the tenant would have used the fireplace this upcoming winter without being able to discover the issue. That would have ended with a house full of carbon monoxide and smoke.

Of course we continued to clean the dryer vent, and carefully performed the chimney sweep to assure the tenant can use them safely.
